The visit from the VFW National Commander, Kansas State Commander, District Commander, and surrounding Post Commanders and Officers were met with open arms and warm felt adulation. CiC Thomas "Tommy" Tradewell presented the mass of patrons with an eloquent, non rehearsed, speech of all the key issues' that effect our Veterans here and abroad. Some of the key issues CiC Tradewell spoke of was the current national budget and securing funding for our Veterans Administration. He spoke of the importance of the Ladies and Men's Auxiliary units on how they mirror the efforts of the Posts' mission objectives. His spirit and drive, concerning our POW/MIA programs, is echoed worldwide with his productive meetings with members of China and Russia. A standing ovation proceeded the recognition of Mr. Thomas J. Sanders, Medical Center Director of the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center. Mr. Sanders spoke about the many Veterans the VAMC is currently providing health care for and the numerous Veterans currently receiving disability. It is one thing to see all what our local VAMC provides to us Veterans - but it was a true honor "hearing" what Mr. Sanders had to say. The members of VFW Post 3115 give our utmost respect and gratitude to those whom contributed to and attended this historical event! |
